Complete the Game with Thrusterpack Only!

Oh no - no Thrusterpack! Don't worry - you don't need it!

Sort of ranty bit:

Well, hubby said "congratulations, you've successfully cheated" which really seems a bit harsh. It's not that I wanted to skip whole sections of the game, it's just that I wanted to do the whole thing with the Helipack. Mostly because I hate the Thrusterpack. I mean, yeah yeah, I can turn those Thrusterpack required bold cranks, but lift is really lacking after you upgrade from the Helipack. Okay it's true, the Helipack lets you break into more Out of Bounds areas and that's really the draw. But I hate the idea of "upgrading" to an inferior gadget.

Now that the rant is out of the way, here's how I did it.

1. While you don't need all-28-Gold-Bolt "Invincibility" Cheat turned on for this, you do need the 10- Gold Bolt "Fast" Game Speed turned on.

2. Skip Pokitaru, unless you just want to swim out to the mountain island gold bolt opposite the Torgoff Waterfall. The main quest is getting the Thrusterpack and O2 mask which would replace your Helipack.

3. Option 1: During the first trip to the Deplanetizer (without the Helipack or Clank), you can try to "break through" the barrier as shown in the video below. As a "spreed run" tactic, this will allow you to skip Kalebo III and the Hologuise segment entirely. I was not able to get this to work, but maybe you can. (Skip to 9:41 to go directly to the Deplanetizer portion.) Here's the video guide from A+Start:





4. Option 2: Complete the first Deplanetizer trip normally and head to Kalebo III for your Hologuise.  Without the Thrusterpack, you won't be able to raise the bridge with the bolt crank, so head to the Grind Rail elevator to the left of lobby instead. See videos below.


4a) Getting to the Hoverboard Race (avoid jumping on the windows on the rooftops as those will cause Ratchet damage and eventually kill him.) You won't be able to work your way back to complete the level this way as one platform is cut off by a short grind rail you can't ride in the reverse direction. Instead, head back to the long grind rail where you started.






4b.) Go back to the grind rail and complete that section for the 2nd Gold Bolt.  For the 3rd and final Gold Bolt head back up to the roof where you were in the first video, but head across the roof toward the far elevator as shown in the video below:





And that's it for Kalebo. With Hologuise obtained, head back to the Deplanetizer and use the Helipack to get over/through the barrier to the final Nefarious battle (after reaching the big battle room with the bridge.) See video below:
